design*sponge

I am so thrilled to share with you the home tour of Carey and Erv Salvador, which ran this week on design*sponge. Carey is the shop owner of Pigeonhole Homestore, the most adorable store full of vintage furniture, lighting, treasures and new homewares. To no surprise, her home is spectacular. It's the perfect mix of new and old, full of treasures from their travels and all the antique hunting they do for the shop. What I am most inspired by is the way she repurposes things, such as converting a display cabinet into a kitchen countertop.

Kinfolk Dinner | A Messy Meal

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending and photographing the latest Kinfolk Dinner, A Messy Meal,  in San Francisco. The dinner was inspired by the theme wabi-sabi, a Japanese word centered on the acceptance of imperfection.

Chef Stephen Beaumier thoughtfully prepared our dinner and also taught the techniques for making gnocchi. The room was beautifully brought together by a talented group of women including Katy Elizabeth, Natasha Kolenko and Elle Luna, who created the lunar mural as a backdrop for the event.

Remote Island Getaway with Rock Paper Square

Featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings

Always ready for an adventure,  Rock Paper Square and I teamed up to create this fun outdoor, camping shoot inspired by the beauty of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. We took real life (and in love!) couple, Jon and Shell, out to the remote Sidney Spit Island for a day of hiking, picnicking, music making and camping. The whole island was theirs for the day, to get lost in love and explore the beauty of nature and each other.
